Grilled or Roasted Asparagus with Soy Glaze

This asparagus has great flavor and is grilled on the barbeque or roasted in the oven.  You can marinate the asparagus up to the day before you need them, or just toss the asparagus with the marinade and cook right away.

Serves 6

 

 

¼ cup olive oil

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional

pepper to taste

 

30 asparagus stalks, tough ends removed and washed

 

In a resealable bag or Tupperware large enough to hold asparagus, add oil, soy, sesame oil and pepper and mix.  Add asparagus.

 

To a heated barbeque, or a heated 425 degree oven, place asparagus directly on the barbeque grill (or on a cookie sheet if roasting), and grill until lightly browned – about 2 minutes.  Keep turning until completely cooked and the asparagus can be easily pierced with the tip of a knife.  Serve right away or at room temperature.
